TMEA 2008 (video clip) My son made the All-State Mixed choir this year, with two others from our HS. This was one of his goals/accomplishments this year as a senior. He is a bass singer and has lettered in choir all four years of HS career. Now that he has graduated from HS, he plans on attending Texas A&M in the fall and hopes to be a member of the Singing Cadets. We are very proud of him.
Here is a clip of one of their songs. Their director was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir director.

I am so excited to go to the NECC (National Technology Conference) this year. It will be in San Antonio from June 28-July2. There wil be some of my favorite podcasters, tech gurus, and tech educators presenting. I’m really looking forward to hearing Dan Schmit with “Kidcast” and Will Richardson’s presentation on Blogs, Wikis, and Podcasting.

tidbits-intro This is a new tool for me, although blogging has been around for quite some time. I hope it will become a useful tool for our teachers and students. I thought I would start out with an introduction to myself. I am not a true Texan. I grew up in Juneau, Alaska. My family moved to Alaska in 1963, when Alaska was hardly adopted as the 49th State. That is hard to believe. I was introduced to Texas when I went off to college, Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. What a culture shock (in many ways)! Juneau is surrounded by mountains, glacier, and the Pacific Ocean. Abilene is surrounded by mesas, flat land, and tumbleweeds. That was my first shock.
Since my blog is called TidBits… I am going to keep my blogs short. I will be adding pictures and short “tidbits” to my blog on a weekly basis.
